umbilical is a native macOS download manager. Get HTTP files in parallel, add magnets and torrents without ever seeding, save videos as one file, send a link from Safari, and watch progress from the menu bar. It is open source under GPL-3.0-or-later at github.com/ks1686/umbilical. Building from source does not require a license key. Shipped builds use a $9.99 Polar license.
Fast parallel downloads
Big files finish faster with parallel HTTP. Pause, resume, or remove anytime. Files land in the folder you pick in Settings.
Torrents and magnets, no seeding
Drop in a magnet or a .torrent. umbilical never seeds when a download finishes, and it does not upload while one is running.
Safari right-click
Send an http, https, or magnet link from Safari. Confirm in the app before it starts. Cookies and browsing data stay in Safari.
Menu bar app
Watch progress from the menu bar. Finished and failed downloads can notify you. Active downloads stop when you quit.

Lifetime updates. One license is active on 1 Mac at a time. Polar enforces that limit. Deactivate a Mac in the app (Settings, License, Deactivate This Mac) or in the Polar customer portal.
After checkout, Polar emails the license key. Open umbilical, then Settings. In the License section, paste the key into the License key field and choose Activate.
